Hi,

is it possible to include images in the subscriptions email?
if a user get notified of new blog-posts or forum-messages, no images are included in the email -.-
i'm using the mail-template editor for editing the template of subscriptions.

here is my setting for the subscriptions_mail_digest
{{!sender_name==!sender_name?: Author: !sender_name }}Title: !title {{!is_new==0?:!teaser }}Link: !url {{!has_new_comments!=1?:!comments}}

comments:
Kommentar: "!comment_title" von !comment_name
!comment_text

in cck i use full html for the node.

image_field images? I don't know.

A patch is welcome here...

no.

i use the ck_editor and the "image"-button. with imce i upload the images to the server and link them in content.
thats the code, the button create:

<img alt="" src="http://intranet/sites/default/files/Bilder/blog/todo_block.png" style="width: 272px; height: 161px;" />

In the subscribtion-emails all the html is filterd!
no formating, no images, no links.
its plain text!

the only html link is the link to the node.

how to change this?

Hmm, so you're referring to ck_editor, not to cck, which subscriptions_cck is all about? Right?

What do you see if you edit the HTML of the node body? I assume ck_editor will somehow let you see the HTML if you want...

i can see the final layout (like a wysiwyg-editor should behave ;) ) and i can toggle the view to the pure html-code.

for example, the following post (see screenshot) has this code:

This is a test-post.<br />
<br />
here is the image-file linked:<br />
<img alt="" src="http://website/sites/default/files/Bilder/forum/medium_1259654756.jpeg" style="width: 120px; height: 120px" /><br />
<br />
This image wont be displayed in the subscribtion email.<br />
Neither this <strong>bold text </strong>nor any html-tag is displayed in the email.

and yes, it is the ck-editor not the cck -.- sorry!
I use full html in setup for content....

We don't have support for multi-part (or HTML) mails. The notifications are text-only. I believe that *bold* is marked with asterisks, though, as customary for text-only mails. Some mail client even translate the asterisks back to bold.

Subscriptions has some support for img_assist images. These are implemented through tags like
[img_assist|nid=135|title=|desc=|link=none|align=none|width=544|height=551]
Subscriptions translates these into links to the images. We could do the same for the <img> elements.

(Actually, I'd be wary of sending attachments — these could potentially be pretty large, and you can't know whether your users are equipped to receive large files at any moment.)

So, what do you receive in your mail for that node?

ragesoft’s picture

sry,

jeah, i onlye recive blank text and the blold is markte like this: *bold*

no image nore any advice, that there is an image!

it would be nice to get a info like:

[image see original post] or something like that.

better:
link direkt to the image :D

I have just addressed this with a patch that will hopefully be implemented from this issue.

Version: 6.x-1.3 » 6.x-1.x-dev

#1473804: Add Preference to allow simple HTML through on nodes. tries to help you send HTML mail, if you install an additional module that provides that functionality. I'm not sure whether that is sufficient for including pictures, but if it works then I won't argue, of course!

What I had in mind here was to add picture links to the plain text notifications for D6. I think this already works in D7, otherwise open a separate issue for D7.

We probably won't get around to implementing this for D6 anymore...
