I'm trying to find the "mailqueue" module, in order to minimase the ammount of SPAMs my server produces, but can'T find it anywhere. Help?

Are there any updates as to the status of the mailqueue module? It seems like a nice concept, i.e. a central control for the pushing of messages to users. Or has something else popped up that has overridden the need for it?
