I see that functionality is included to set default subscriptions terms a types - nd node types on a per role basis.

I have come across a situation where I need to combine these features. The setup I need is:

I have two roles: Client and candidate. Both these roles should choose the taxonomy terms they wish to be subscribed to.

I have two content - job and profile. Users with the candidate role should only get updates for job content type nodes which have the terms they subscribed to. Users with the client role should only get updates for the profile content type nodes which have the terms they subscribed to.

Perhaps there is a way to get this in the current implementation of the module? or can you give me any pointers to code segments I need to look at?

Thanks in advance

If you can restrict access of each role to its content type only, then you'll get this for free.

Thanks for the advice - I will do some tests with node access modules.
Thanks again.

I too want to do this. I wouldn't want to limit access to content types though.

I have an "Answers" channel on my site (like the answers.yahoo.com format) that uses a node type I called "Questions". Some users only want to receive updates about Questions per taxonomy term, but they don't want to hear about other updated content for that term. Example, they want to be notified of new questions about Toronto but don't want to be notified about all new content about Toronto

You'll have to write an add-on module that provides a suitable user interface and the resulting SQL clauses.
