The subject lines for the subscriptions-node-.... templates (see admin/build/mail_edit) contain the string '!subject' which presumably is supposed to be '!title'.

This was fixed in

which went into beta3. However, if you've already saved the templates, the fix won't help.

Please check again and set back to active if the issue persists.
