In a user's subscriptions overview settings, under preferences is a tick box with this label and description: 'On comments - Sends a notification when an item receives a comment or reply.'

What does this do? If I unchecked the checkbox as a test then then user still receives notifications for content they are subscribed to. Thanks

You added a comment to a pre-existing node (subscribed and already notified) and you received a notification for the new comment?

Sorry, I thought that is what was happening but ive tested again and its not. Thanks
