The only subscription method available to my users is per page. The block that appears on pages however has 2 checkboxes. Do these both do exactly the same thing? Thanks

The second checkbox is in the second column, "On comments."

Your table theming is not so great. Here's how it looks under Bartik:

Im using the zen theme. I think the issue is that although users can only subscribe 'On comments' not 'On updates' aswell, redundant elements are loaded onto the page. I think I can fix it with theming though,

"On comments" is not redundant in general, but in your configuration it makes no sense to turn it off, and you may want to hide the "On comments" column, as you've hidden the "On updates" column.
