I have installed "Override Node Options" or "Publishing node" module, and I have enable "publish own page content" in a role.

The role is disabled "administer nodes" permission, but when role adds content, that role can choose "Send notifications of subscriptions" in "Publish Node box". Why?

Apparently, the modules in question reuse the "Publishing options" under the name of "Publish Node box". They probably hide the other three publishing options to keep only the "Published" option visible, but they don't hide the "Send subscriptions notifications" [sic] option (or any other options that might be added by other modules).

I've not found a project under http://drupal.org/project/node_publish nor under http://drupal.org/project/nodepublish and will not investigate any further.
