Is there anyway to have emails sent immediately rather than waiting for the cron?
Im working on a low traffic site so performance isnt really an issue. I need notifications for a booking form for a courier company, so even a 15 minute delay isnt ideal.
Thanks

balabushka commentedAs I quite often read in the issues here, there is no solution for immediate subscription sent out except running cron more often - run it every minute then?

jdln commentedAlthough my site is very low traffic, im on shared hosting. Is it OK to run the cron that often or will it impact on the performance of my other sites with on the same hosting?
I guess I could use rules to run the cron after content was created, but this still means running the cron more often that I otherwise would.
Thanks

salvisbalabushka is right. Due to a limitation of core, this cannot be done reliably.
You can run cron from your browser to get a feeling for how quickly it returns if there's nothing to do. I'd say immediately.
If you run it every other minute, you'll save half of the cron runs.
