The changes at the code must be done also to the development snapshot.
Normally one would start from the development snapshot, and then change the official release; doing so, the official release branch would be updated automatically.

I don't know hot to make dev snaphots, yet. I mean, I know how to create it, but since you can't change released code here, I'm trying to figure out how devs work. So be patient.
