I am not using modules/taxonomy_context like in the other post about black spaces, but i am getting the blank spaces between the options in my admin windows. On my contact form there is a big space http://www.ouradverts.com/contact and also on my create content options http://www.ouradverts.com/node/add/page. These problems only come about when viewing the site in Internet Explorer. Is there a way around this?

Yeah, I've got the same problem. Any suggestions how to fix it?

Same problem here. Looked through the CSS and I'm not well versed enough to figure it out myself.

Would you be so kind as to provide a screen print of the respective problems? I don't have IE myself to see the problem first-hand.

Many thanks,

Paddy.

I have never seen this particular problem before. Around line 727 of your style.css file can you make the following change

.main-content form .form-text, .main-content form textarea, .main-content form#node-form textarea#body, .main-content form textarea  {
    width: 93%;
}

with

.main-content form .form-text, .main-content form textarea, .main-content form#node-form textarea#body, .main-content form textarea  {
    width: 93%;
    float: none;
}

The addition of the float: none; might just correct the problem.

Paddy,

I tried it, and it doesn't seem to make any difference. Thanks for the try!

Still searching...

I see two problems on your screen shot.

The first is that the textarea is not aligned on the left hand side - but floating after the message label.

The second is that the resize bar is out of place.

I think that if we solve the first problem the second problem will disappear.

As another test, please change around line 744 of yout style.css file

form label:hover, form .form-item label {
    color: rgb(51, 51, 51);
    cursor: pointer;
}

to

form label:hover, form .form-item label {
    color: rgb(51, 51, 51);
    cursor: pointer;
    float: none;
}

again a float: none; has been added.

Paddy.

No change with the above mentioned fixes.

paddy_deburca’s picture

Could you try

textarea {
  margin: 0;
}

This fix is a bit general, but if it solves this particular problem, a more specialised fix can be made.

Thanks,

Paddy.

That didn't seem to help, either...

Thanks again for everything you're doing to help me and a lot of other people out with this!

Hi,

I noticed an inheritance issue in IE - it was inheriting sizes from drupal.css which puts the resizable text area to 95% which causes the whitespace. Also the div wasn't displaying inline.

To fix this I added this to style.css

.resizable-textarea {display:inline;}
.resizable-textarea textarea {width: 93% !important;}
.grippie {width: 93% !important;}

That did it!

Thanks!

could you tell me in which area of the style.css to add this please.

mlee’s picture

I'm not sure if it matters, but FWIW, I put it at the bottom.
