it would be good to explain on the project page why yet another module
why not help improve fivestar
what makes this different
a simple comparison to help users decide why to use your module

Thank you for your suggestion.

This module is not intended to replace fivestar/any other rating module; also it doesn’t provide a rating interface. Using this rating can only be done by the node author.

This module can be used as:

  • A custom CCK field for content types which can be combined with views to list sorted or filtered by rating. The behavior of each of these fields can be configured to set number of stars, show a cancel button, limit to one vote and to provide a split star rating.
  • Use form API to create a powerful/flexible custom star rating field with configuration options, the star rating widget can programmatically controlled through a JavaScript API
