Drupal 8.7.7, simpleSAMLphp 1.17.6, PHP 7.3, Ubuntu 16.04, NGINX 1.10.3

I have simpleSAMLphp set up as an SP and it works with our campus idP when I test via the web UI. Simplesamlphp_auth is configured and enabled and when I click on the Federted Login link I'm taken to our idP. After entering my credentials, I then get stuck in a redirect loop. I've tried various settings in simplesamlphp_auth, but nothing seems to help. Any suggestions as to why it's doing this? If you need to look at any of my configurations, please let me know.

Same or similar issue here, the module bounces from /saml_login to /login indefinitely

I'm guessing this is due to misconfiguration, see project page and #2837029: All site forms fail with "The form has become outdated" after allowing "Authenticated user" role to log in with local accounts. Feel free to reopen if you think you configured it correctly, you should probably share any non-sensitive parts of your simpleSAMLphp configuration then.
