antongp commentedHi
Please check your pages for javascript errors. Close button is handled by javascript and probably its execution is crashed on your pages for some reason.

krystlc commentedi haven't fully tested it but in my case it's related to my theme's jquery version.
i altered the jquery version to 1.8.3 and i get the same bug. plus, no errors are reported in the console. it goes back to normal (closed window) if i revert back to regular jquery 1.4.

krystlc commentedfigured it out. outerWidth without a parameter doesn't return the correct width of the element in +1.8 jquery http://bugs.jquery.com/ticket/12232
so the solution is to add outerWidth(false) in line 12 and 23 of /js/simplemeta.js

antongp commentedkrystlc, how did you replace the jQuery by 1.8.3? I believe it wasn't jQuery Update (it provides 1.8.2)...
So i tested on clean Drupal 7 installation, with latest jQuery Update, switching to jQuery 1.5, 1.7, 1.8, 1.9 and 1.10, switching on and off core's javascript aggregation, and I actually cannot reproduce the issue...
Thanks
