After installation of module and the 2 libraries (blockui and ace-builds in libraries folder), only "orange box" with vertical text "Live CSS" to the right appears. Clicking on it has no effect - no editor shows up.

I'm working on my first D9 project. The module worked under D8. I'm probably missing something? (I'm not a dev)

Thanks a LOT in advance for any help!

EDIT: I'm on Drupal 9.2.0

EDIT 2: The installation is, for now, running locally on MAMP.

Hi there; I've tested the module with the latest drupal 9 version (9.2.0) - brand new drupal install, no other contrib modules / themes used. Everything seems to be working ok for me (using google chrome).

If I had to make a guess; it seems like the javascript libraries are not loaded correctly; maybe they are in another location than the module expects it? They should be located in <project-root>/web/libraries.

Could you check the javascript console for errors? This should also show scripts that cannot be loaded.

Hi, and thanks a lot for your answer!

In google chrome, on a brand new Drupal 9.2.0 installation with only Simple Live CSS contrib module installed, the Javascript Console gives me this error whenever I mouse click the orange box (and the text editor is not showing):

See error here (screenshot)

I have, for now, the two libraries (blockui and ace-builds) installed in this location:

Drupal root/libraries/blockui
Drupal root/libraries/ace-builds

... but it doesn't seem to work. I'm probably doing something wrong?

Hm, libraries seem to be fine. The error points out that the /live_css/get endpoint does not exist.
It is defined by the module though, so it should be available. You can test if it is working by navigating to http://localhost:8888/live_css/get in the browser - it should not give back a 404 page.

Have you tried clearing the caches? Route definitions are cached; so maybe that could fix it?

Hi again. It still doesn't seem to work. Navigating to http://localhost:8888/[sitename]/live_css/get gives me a completely blank screen.

Going to close this issue, since this seems to be a local issue on the site itself.
The endpoint to get live css is located on http://localhost:8888/live_css/get instead of http://localhost:8888/[sitename]/live_css/get - this could be the reason why it's not working.

Maybe it's a specific multisite configuration or there are url rewrite rules active?

Feel free to open a new issue if there is new info available.
