My hosting provider has disabled allow_url_fopen
Is there any other option to get this module running ? (maybe a 'curl' workaround)
This is the warning message:
Warning: imagecreatefromjpeg() [function.imagecreatefromjpeg]: http:// wrapper is disabled in the server configuration by allow_url_fopen=0 in shrinktheweb_get_thumbnail() (line 180 of [...]/sites/all/modules/shrinktheweb/shrinktheweb.module)

geobaev commentedI haven't implemented a workaround for the disabled allow_url_fopen setting. Do you have a source code patch which implements this workaround?

We have an article that gives sample code for implementing curl as a workaround for this issue.

Also, we have released substantially more powerful and flexible sample code that we would like to see integrated with this module. One of our developers can assist (if you make them a co-maintainer), since they are familiar with integrations now. I think the update could go quickly. Here is a link to the new code:

Please let us know how to proceed with updating this helpful module! :)

Thank you very much for this information. I shall be very glad to make your developer a co-maintainer of the ShrinkTheWeb project. Could you please submit his/her Drupal username? Thank you.

puravida commentedHello all,
The latest v6.x-1.1 & v7.x-1.3 releases are "ShrinkTheWeb Certified" now, and that means that they use cURL for file transmissions. This issue can be closed.
