Please provide an example of how to trigger a Rules Component using a REST call

For beginners using REST services like me, its unclear how to make use of a Services Rules endpoint.

For example, I have a Rules Component that creates a new entity on the remote site. The component is now available as endpoint using this module.

Say I want the component to create an entity as soon as on the local site an entity is created, how should the REST call look like?
