Selected 'Allow visitors to send full item text', but only teaser is sent

I'm trying to send the full node's text of a of CCK content type (with a custom page-content_type.tpl.php), and despite having selected 'Allow visitors to send full item text', both in Send Modules setting and in the Send to Friend section of Content type settings, the message being sent is only the teaser of the node.
