Not sure if this is just my setup. When I checked the "Permit changes on every item" option for my page content type, I could no longer edit or add a page. If I took the option off, it allowed me to edit and add as usual.

Ideally, you only want to switch this setting on as needed. But in case you need it, it works now :)
