I have got to be missing something really simple here, but I can't add the spellcheck field to my search view's header or footer - it's not there to add. All I have available to add to header or footer are one entity: and four global: options. What am I missing here?

The view is configured as a page with an exposed search: search terms field under filter criteria.

Spellcheck is only available for the following services

Search API Solr : 1.0-beta3 or higher
Xapian: Requires patch #1159508: Support for Search API Spellcheck
Search API MongoDB: No
Search API Database: No

Might you be using MongoDB or Database ?
