So if I want to keep the PDF viewable only on my site, I go to Scribd to change the privacy option there.

It would be better if that could be done in Drupal, and best if public/private could be set as a default. The iPaper module does it that way.

How about using iPaper Secure to control privacy? There's more info at this link:

Indeed, but I was wishing for a public/private toggle in Drupal, enabled by the module.

The iPaper Module (http://drupal.org/project/ipaper) already supports iPaper Secure privacy controls, but doesn't yet support CCK. So if the iPaper module and Scribd field module maintainers could join forces, that would be ideal.

Subscribing. I really need this facility if I am going to be able to use the Scribd services due to the nature of the content on my site.

The answer is here:

So we are awaiting an update from the maintainer, unless someone else wants to have a go at creating a patch?

I unfortunately do not have the developing skills to do so

Hi everybody,

Just to tell you that if you want all the files being private by default, thanks to jamesmcd link, I modified the module to act like that.

On the scribdfield.module file, you just have to add a line, on line 167 :
$params['access'] = 'private';

It should look like something like that :

function scribdfield_api_upload($file) {
  $params['file']     = '@' . $file;
  $params['method']   = 'docs.upload';
  $params['access']   = 'private';
  $params['api_key']  = variable_get('scribd_api_key', NULL);

Hope it helped you.

Anthony.
