When an entity (an "Atom" from the Scald module) is created, I'd like a rule to be triggered. Is that possible?

I tried a simple rule with the "After saving new content" event, and "Show a message" action. It works if I create a new Article node, but not if I create a new Scald Atom.

Rules will automatically generate CRUD events for *all* entities that have been properly defined through the Entity API. I don't know anything about the Scald module, but I have used many other modules that define non-node entities and CRUD events for ALL those entities show up in the list of available events when you create a new Rule through the UI.
