I have root candy as the admin theme on several sites working just fine. Last night I install it on a system and there is an additional list of menu items that appears between the "open panel" and the header where the buttons are. See attached image.

Net panel in FireBug shows all files being loaded so it's not a missing CSS file.

This happens in Firefox 3.6 and also Google Chrome both on Ubuntu.

I tried turning admin menu off but it made no difference.

Any ideas what I'm missing here?

This is a navigation block, that can be disabled at admin/build/block and switch to rootcandy theme (either fixed or the one you are using now)

I am having the same issue and am not sure that the solution provided makes sense in all cases. I have the theme set for use with the admin only. In this case, the blocks solution won't help me since the block configuration is only for the site theme.

Are there any other options?

while you are on blocks administration screen, you should be able to switch theme, so you can select which blocks can be used for rootcandy and other themes. (see the tabs)
