Here's a way to illustrate the Dashboard page with images. I'm not certain were to put the descriptions right now. It could go in a column to the right but as a user scrolls down, it might not be that convenient.

Thanks Steve,
with current design I am not going to go in this direction. however,
I'll hijack this issue to use it for an idea to have the ability to select a dashboard layout in theme settings

when user allows to use dashboard layout, it will replace /admin page

just for an idea what i mean i have attached one image

Only local images are allowed.
