I'm sorry I can't pin point where this lies exactly, but since switching to this theme, I've lost all functionality of any Search block. Both Core and Search API blocks will only refresh the current page when trying to search. Searching is still possible when searching from the search/results page. Just to verify, I've switched between this theme, Bartik, and one built from Stark, the latter 2 search properly from the block.
