It also needs closely related to 'Sites Made with Drupal', so we agreed to move it to the middle column.

'Who Else Uses Drupal?' is moved and in place: http://redesign.drupal.org/

The middle column is the longest, but this probably isn't a big deal as it offers a bit of visual separation from the map.

Now reassigning to George for link collection. (George, I've given you the "redesign user" role, meaning you can assign and be assigned issues for the duration of the Redesign project)

The long form layout is kind of sloppy and would look great if we categorized each of the case studies by site type. (Blog, E-commerce, Media, Enterprise, etc.) We also need to have an introduction introducing the case studies.

This should be updated fairly frequently (I'm thinking at least once a quarter) to reflect the highest profile sites and brands that use Drupal. As we're often not able to get case studies that quickly for some of these sites, what I'd propose is something along these lines:

Sites Built with Drupal

[Rotating Recent Case Study Images]

Drupal is used by some of the biggest sites on the Web, like Examiner.com and The White House. Read more Drupal success stories.

I've committed the text.
Those are powerful examples, but we prob ought to have them in the Success Stories if we're going to mention them?

Also, the case study content/images are coming from forum, and we're linking to book nodes. Shall we keep doing this until another strategy is worked out?

Unfortunately, we simply just don't have good case studies for some of the highest-profile, biggest-name Drupal sites, for a variety of very good reasons. My understanding is that the key is having having recognizable names of high-profile Drupal sites on the home page, and it's okay for folks can dig deeper if they want to learn how Drupal might be able to help them solve their particular business problems.

My opinion is that we need to go through the book pages, separate out some of the wheat from the chaff, and make sure that the creme de la creme of the case studies currently in the forums are added to "Success Stories". That's a time-consuming project though, and one we probably don't have time for before the redesign launch. In the meantime, while not ideal, I think it makes sense that we feature the most recent case studies from the forum while also pointing users to the more stable content in the Success Stories section.

Now that we have the case study for The Economist, I'd like to tweak this a little:

Drupal is used by some of the biggest sites on the Web, like The Economist, Examiner.com and The White House. Read more Drupal success stories.
