I'm liking the possibilities of this theme, but much prefer variable width. I've had a quick rummage inside style.css, but I'm no themer...

Is there a variable-width version of this theme? (Probably with the header image "windowing" on a centred wide image)

unfortunatly there is no variable width version available. I was looking for this also :(
I ended using ad_novus-fluid as second theme on my page. Not as nice as quicksilver, but with some tweaks not bad.

Quicksilver seems not to be developed/supported anymore :(
