We typically meet the first Wednesday of the month, 6–8pm Pacific time.
Join our groups ongoing discussion in our Slack channel, #pacific-time-virtual-drupal-users-group
There is growing interest in holding a recurring virtual Drupal meetup. This will help our Drupal community grow and support more people. It provides greater access to meetups for people who have busy schedules or have limitations that prevent them from accessing in-person Drupal meetups.
To be reasonable and fair to scheduling for these meetups, we are focusing on the Pacific time zone here. Additional meetups can be organized and scheduled for other time zones. However, all are welcome if they can attend.
Each meetup will have a clear agenda, like:
- 10–15 mins: Introductions for anyone new
- 60 mins: Presentations, panel discussions, lightning talks, initiative contributions, Drupal training, etc.
- 30–45 mins: Networking, socializing, and BoFs
Topics can be suggested by the group. Session submissions can be provided for group organizers to select, then scheduled ahead of the meetup to help people decide if they want to attend. We can eventually consider holding larger virtual camp/summit events if there is group interest.
To promote greater access and community accountability, we can record our meetups for those who cannot attend.
This approach is expected to adapt to community needs like any meetup. Attendees should adhere to the Drupal community’s code of conduct: https://www.drupal.org/dcoc
