This project is borrowed from the original Avatar Selection module written by stella, and changed to support Drupal 7.

The functionality of the module is kept the same, it has been modified and improved to work effectively for Drupal 7.

In this version you can also upload a picture as your avatar during the registration process.

Anyway
http://drupal.org/project/avatar_selection already has a 7.x-1.x-dev release so you should rather provide your changes as patch than creating a duplicate module.

I don't think you can come through the review process regarding this fact, sorry
You should rather create a new, non-duplicating module with more code from you. Because this process is about reviewing your skills and not about how nice you are able to port an existing module.

@patrickd is correct - this should be created as a patch to avatar selection via the queue for that module.

if you want to create a new project then that can be reviewed via this process.
