bellHead commentedInitial version of module code attached. It does comma and semi-colon separated strings and bulleted and numbered lists.
The first patch the to new project (if it's approved) will be the ImplodeToEnglish() function mikeytown2 wrote in #331700: Text, Number & Taxonomy Formatters which became the core of Text Formatters. This would make a full functional replacement for Text Formatters on 7 as the starting point for the more general field formatters repository.

bellHead commentedRereading my initial motivation I see that I left out why I feel that a larger repository-style module would be better than a single purpose module: A larger module, or even initially a module with a larger idea, would hopefully attract co-maintainers more easily. Multiple maintainers would provide better review, better continuity and more even attention even as individuals get swamped or take leave (it even happens to geeks these days :) )
On that note: I will be away from technology until the 23rd - I am not just being slow about responding to any questions.

arianek commentedHi. Please read all the following and the links provided as this is very important information about your CVS Application:
Drupal.org has moved from CVS to Git! This is a very significant change for the Drupal community and for your application. Please read the following documentation on how this affects and benefits you and the application process:

sreynen commentedHi bellHead,
You mentioned being willing to co-maintain the Text Formatters project, and that seems like the best path forward with your work. That project appears to be in need of a more active maintainer, and your code is in need of a full project container. Also, your code looks to be a functional equivalent, so it would make a fine D7 version of the existing code in Text Formatters. There are several people in #1028720: port to D7 expressing interest in a D7 version, so continuing under the same project (even with a completely new codebase) seems like a good way to avoid all those users needing to find and migrate to a new project.
To become a co-maintainer, you can just file an issue in the Text Formatters issue queue asking to be added. If there's no response to that issue within 2 weeks, you can start treating the project as abandoned, and begin the steps to take it over described in [#251466].

sreynen commentedI'm marking this as needs work, for lack of a better status. If you want to go ahead with creating a separate project, please change it back to needs review. If you're okay with putting your code under the Text Formatters project, please change the status to fixed.
