Not sure this is filed correctly yet, since I've only just observed the behavior and haven't pinpointed the issue.

Something between Profile2, ECK, and Inline Entity Form is not working.
The form renders the related ECK correctly, and all the feedback suggests that things are going smoothly until i hit the IEF "Create" button or the Profile2 "Save" button.

No ECK gets created in the DB.
No errors

Using latest dev of all 3 modules as well as entity api

Profile2 + ECK (using e.g. checkbox widget) works fine.
Definitely some weird interaction with IEF

Another symptom:
If the Profile type has an attached "regular" field (e.g. text field) and a related ECK via IEF, nothing on the form will save if the IEF is non-empty.

The text field input is saved only if the IEF form is left untouched.

For now I'm giving up on Profile2 altogether.
There seem to be simply too many pitfalls and incompatibilities to justify using a custom entity instead of Node.
