Please excuse my ignorance, as I am still getting around the how entity api works. I am trying to create a profile object for use in creating a plugin for the migrate module. I know that i need to use the profile_save($profile) function and to create the $profile object I'm using profile_create(array $values). I saw earlier in the code that both type and uid are added as key=>value pairs to $values but i am just wondering how field data should be structured? I've tried simply type casting the object provided by the mirgrate import function and it appears to work for some fields but not all.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I found a better approach here: http://drupal.org/node/1133914 as it handles all entities that rely on the entity api.
