Sorry if this proves to be the wrong place to ask about this, but it seems right at the moment.

Plugin Manager is reporting two of my modules are "Not supported!", but is suggesting the exact same versions as "recommended". These modules are Nodewords 6.x-3.x-dev (2010-Jul-11) and Facebook social plugins integration 6.x-6.x-dev (2010-Jul-11).

And strangely, auto-update insists on installing a development version of Views:Slideshow in place of the 6.x-2.3 stable version that's the current recommended download.

FYI, for FBSOCIAL, the current recommended download is 6.x-1.0-beta4 and there is no stable release. For NODEWORDS, there is a stable version 6.x-1.11 which I would have thought would be supported.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Update installing the wrong version is a known issue. It's one that I'm trying to work through for the next version.

As for the "Not supported!", I don't believe that that is the plugin manager. Is it possible that the plugin manager installed these modules for the wrong version of Drupal?

I don't know about your second point.

I have had to uninstall Plugin Manager for the moment because the Update.Status module of Drupal core 6.19 is producing masses of error messages. I'm waiting on support for that at the moment and then may be able to get back to this.

Go to Plugnin Manager > Settings and uncheck Choose Latest Version. That will allow you to select update versions manually.
