hey,
I installed phpfreechat yesterday on the latest release of drupal and I could not get it to work. It was a clean install on my local system. There were no other modules installed. I followed the instructions verbatim. I set the base_url variable in the settings.php file. I set the permissions on the module so everyone could access the chat(s). I edited the page content type to allow chat on a by-node-basis. Then i created a page and set it to be a chatroom. I left all of the defaults except that I put a default channel and title. When I go to the page, I get the loading box, but then it stops there. I checked the javascript console in chrome and it shows that there is only one ajax call being made. Should there be more than one? Idk??
I really wanted to use the module so I was determined to figure it out. I completely uninstalled the module, deleted all of the files, cleared the cache (in both the browser and drupal) and then downloaded a fresh version and tried my luck again. I took the same measure of care and followed the instructions verbatim. I still got the same problems that I had before. I started searching the issue queue and I found similar problems, but most of them dealt with older versions. None-the-less I read all of them and tried out various "workarounds" that reportedly worked, but still nothing.
The next thing I did was install an older version of drupal (6.9 to be exact) and the newest stable version of the chat software to see if it was merely a compatability issue, but that didn't seem to work either. I then tried using an older version of the module (with both 6.16 and 6.9) in my drupal installation but still no luck.
I am working on a site that must go live soon. Chat features was one of the major requests. PHPFreechat seems to meet all of my needs, but I can't get it to work. Please help!!
P.S. - I've attached a photo of the page that it is getting stuck on.

Lee-vit-Over commentedSame here - now that I set the base URL for the site, it's hung-up on "loading". Before I set the URL, it went to the chat-room, but the various images weren't showing. I tracked that down to the URL (showing http://www.www.Mysite.com (double "www")) and ran it with fingers crossed, but now it's hung-up at 'loading'. I too would really like to use this module - and after playing with the demos a little, am convinced that phpfreechat is the way to go - but the module isn't 'going along'.
