Works great on my local server but when I uploaded it to my web server and added the convert path as /usr/bin/convert i get the message - open_base_dir restriction in effect. Make sure of convert is to this directory : /usr/local/php/bin and the pdf to image fails.

Any ideas?

open_base_dir is a php directive.

Your open base dir is configured with this folder /usr/local/php/bin
You must have your convert exec in this path.
Actually your php configuration can not access to /usr/bin/convert.

It is not a bug :-)
