I cannot enable the latest stable version payment_webform module (7.x-1.5) because it is not compatible with the latest version of payment (7.x-1.8). Should I use the dev version of Payment instead?

Thanks for reporting this problem!

Payment for Webform actually requires Payment >=1.8 (I probably forgot the equals sign when making the last change). Instead of fixing this directly and publishing a new Payment for Webform release, I just released Payment 7.x-1.9, which was long overdue anyway. You should be able to download it in a few minutes, and after updating to it, you will be able to use Payment for Webform again.

I'm having the same problem with enabling Payment for Webform with Payment 7.x-1.8.

I don't see 7.x-1.9 as an option to download.

Just re-read and realized you were referring to the Payment module, not this one being 1.9.
