If created content is unpublished it's still reachable using the alias. This can be a problem (think to old bookmarks and so on)
Any suggestion ?

Seems that I was still able to reach the content because I was logged as "Admin". With an anonymous/non admin user I get "you don't have the rights to view this page".

Just an opinion: Even if the message may be confusing to the site's guests.
