Maybe my bad but i read "So when 8.9.x is ready, you should be able to uninstall this module after updating, and use the core implementation instead." and took it at face value. UPgraded to 8.9.x - nada. then read https://www.drupal.org/project/drupal/issues/2794481 and see that this core issue is down as "Needs work" so perhaps I need your module in the meantime (and thanks for making it) but perhaps the project description could have a minor tweak?

Thank you for pointing it out, I've been updating everytime there was a new Drupal version, but forgot this time. I've changed the description.
