On-Page Help creates context-sensitive blocks that can be used to provide the one piece of information a user needs on this page. OPH can provide different blocks to different users based on their roles and what content they're looking at.
Post-Installation
On-Page Help defines a new entity class and creates a default type "Route On-Page Help". Managing the entities is done at admin/structure/on_page_help. OPH is a first-class entity type, supporting fields and displays. Go to admin/structure/on_page_help and browse through the standard settings, and disable the author from the main display.
Second, you'll need an On-Page Help block to the Block Layout for anything to show up. Head over to admin/structure/block and add an On-Page Help block to the top of the Content section.
Third, add some on-page help. Go back to the home page, you'll see a placeholder and a "Add a new on-page help" link. The route of whatever page you came from is added in the Routes section of the form.
The block will show only one item chosen from the list of on-page help items. The module filters based on the route, the current user's roles, and the content type (if applicable). If more than one is available, then the published item with the lowest weight will be shown. If there are no published items and the user can view unpublished on-page help, then the unpublished item with the lowest weight will be shown.
