I have the module working but it doesnt really work.

It is shows that the claim is pending but I have to way to view the claim using the nodeownership view and no way to accept of decline the claim

ALso any idea why the latest dev is not on the drupal.org list and when the additional features will be implemented.

try going to structure -> views and viewing the default node ownership view.

its more then that going though the database something is really off

I just tried the module on a clean install of Drupal and encountered no problems. It sounds like there might be something wrong with your Drupal install. Please be more specific.
