I am using node hierarchy to generate a menu. There are several levels in the menu, however, I do not want the children of the last level to be showed in the menu. So I turned it off by selecting 'never' (Shown item in menu) in node hierarchy setting. I found that menu items (disabled) are still created when new children are added (This is different from D6, which dose not create new menu items). Here is my trouble:
Since new menu item is created for every new child added, all those menu items are added to the menu parent options in the menu settings of node edit form. Since I have more than 10 thousands of last level children, this makes the form very slow (open edit form or add new item for multiple valued fields).
Here is my question:
1) Is there any way to exclude the disabled menu items in the menu parent options? Or
2) Is there any way to stop creating menu items for the last level children and I still can see them in hierarchy view, just like the D6 version?
Thanks,
