Yup, there's a 7 branch.

There's uncommitted code on my laptop which I need to find time to finish...

I've just committed the D7 version of this to CVS.

The 7.x-1.x-dev release should be updated automatically with latest code in the next few hours. Please give it a try!

drupal returned me a krumo error/warning:
Called from /drupal/modules/permissions/node_permissions_grid/node_permissions_grid.admin.inc, line 74

nothing shows up.

keep up the work ;)

Did you try the latest dev? It takes a few hours for the dev version to catch up with CVS. If you got the one that was timestamped July, then yes, that output sounds about right ;)

The current dev works perfectly on my system.
