Hi Chris, as you know I've been looking at iTweaks module but yours' looks much more flexible so I decided to give it a go but all I've managed to do is to make the elements that I specify should be controlled by NLS disappear??

1) I created a name style 'test'
2) Then I thought I'd start with an easy one ;-) so selected 'new comments'
3) selected 'show link' 'div' wrapper element' and a link CSS class.

This resulted in all the links disappearing underneath 'groups: our community'

I reckoned this must be because I hadn't set the context (I know this step was in your pictoral instructions but it might be an idea to add a line to the UI reminding users of this step). I set up a context and still had nothing.

What I was expecting to happen was to see the source showing the new comments link with the style wrapped around it...obviously now actual style because I have yet to create it.

Where am I going wrong?

Do you have some example styles for DC that you can export and post here as a guide for new users?

Many thanks,
Crom

I'm sure I'm being a fool but still can't get this working...

The module is in alpha, so it very well might not have anything to do with you. Would you ming taking a screenshot of your configuration for the "Add comment" as well as the result of your config? That might help determine the issue.

Thanks,
Chris

Title: Not having much luck here. » Styled links are hidden
Category: support » bug

I am also going to assume "bug" until we get confirmation of what is going on. Also, could you post a screenshot of your Context config? The conditions and reactions would br great. I know it seems like overkill to leverage the Context module, however it makes config management easier and provides the flexibility we would otherwise have to replicate.

sorry...been away...on it now!

OK, first off. I had de-activated the module before I went on hols. Re-activating it just now on the same site and going to the admin screen gave me this error:

warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in node_link_style_export_ui.class.php on line 138.

Then I thought I'd start again so I activated the module on a different DCommons site that I hadn't tried the module on before and without any further configuration all the subscribe to links disappeared on an event that I'd set up.

I tried clearing cache - no change.

Then I tried de-activating the module again and clearing cache...links still not back??

Let me know if you'd still like to see the context/NLS admin screens but they are default...I didn't have to touch them to get the above behaviour.

I'm more convinced that it's code I've added (when I was using the itweak links module) that is interacting with this module somewhere. I'll report back once I've worked out where the links have gone ;-)

Interesting. So after some investigation it looks like the context isn;t configured correctly. The kicker here is that if the context doesn't fire, then the links simply get wiped out. This is no good. To ensure your links are styled make sure to use the Context inspector block to make sure it is active, but the attached patch resolves the issue of links accidentally being hidden.
