On /admin/settings/node_gallery/settings there are two different settings: 'View display to use on the "My Galleries" tab on a user's profile' and 'View display to use at /galleries', but if whatever you choose for one of them, the other always takes new setting. So I offer either fix this problem or if it is by design then merge these two settings fields to one.
