Beside images, I like to have videos in my galleries. My videos are hosted somewhere else like youtube or vimeo.

A hackish way to get this functionality (although not a way to support this natively in ng obviously) could be to add an emfield (+ media: youtube for example) to your photo content type and then make your views show the video field if it's populated. The photo itself would work as the video thumbnail.

A crude solution but better than nothing!

I second this request. Would be nice not to only embed video hosted elsewhere, but also load them locally, just like Flickr pictures and videos are kept at the same photostreams.
