Forgive me if I made the wrong assumption about the purpose of this module, but I was wondering how this module can be used in conjunction with node references.

Currently, only the title of the referenced node is displayed on the referencing node view. I'd like to display additional fields from the referenced node.

Is this the correct module to achieve this? If no, could someone direct to a better solution. I'm also considering using Views, which technically should give me almost infinite flexibility, but I am unsure on how to configure node references displays as it does by default by the Node Reference module.

it would be a nice feature request to this module

current solutions

prepare a node view mode for the refered entity
and on your display of your node use "rendered entity" and chose the above view mode

or you can use DS as discussed here #1246270: Multiple display per field / Cloning a field content
