It seems that there are no filters or relationships that this module lends to Views. It seems quite necessary to me to create custom views of say, child nodes to display in various formats on a parent (like a slideshow say.)

Have I missed something or is this module not integrated with Views?

This is not integrated with view at the moment. Will add this to the roadmap. Thanks...

Issue summary: View changes

Was wondering if you had some insight as to how I could make 'node_collection_parent_node_id' available for use in Views. Specifically, I'm trying to use the Contextual Filter with a PHP filter to get the child's parent node id and thus load that node's content in the View. ie If you're on a node collection child page, use the contextual filter to get the parent node id and load that content into the view.

I thought maybe directly utilizing 'node_collection_parent_node_id' variable in the PHP filter might work, but I'm guessing the variable doesn't carry through.

Any suggestions on how I might be able to modify the module would be great!

Thanks!

For anyone who would like to use Views with nodes from Node Collection, a work around is to use Views_PHP along with API calls like 'node_collection_api_get_parent_node_instance' to filter all child nodes with the same parent_id.
