user/login seems fine with and without openid so we have to assume the issue is about the login block.

Compared with garland the openid link does seem out of place.

The text in the login block in Nitobe is centered. The OpenID module adds a separate unordered list to contain the "Log in using OpenID" link. The list element containing the link is padded equally on both the left and the right, causing the element to center on the center of the text without offsetting for the logo (since it has the same padding on the other side).
