Centered menu expansions

My menu system is a little off. I'll have expanded menus always at the bottom of lists and it keeps bringing the expansions down further and further. It looks very akward on some pages.
Can it have an option to center the menu expansion?

It works like this right now. sample has bottom item expanded:

==
====
....==
....==

I want the expanded menu to be configurable for centered expansions that would look like this instead:
==
==
====
====
....==

Or possible centered and top aligned. Top aligned would look like this, with the same menu examples as above:
==
====
====
====
All i really want is centered, but top aligned would be helpful to others i think. Although when u hit the top of the page, the code might cause errors with placement.
