When the Mollom servers are unreachable site owners really need a third option. If the servers are unreachable then there should be a choice if the submitted content should be placed in the approval queue (for comments) and/or unpublished (for nodes). Submitted content is only placed in approval queue/unpublished until the server problems are resolved.
While I've seen similar proposals, I don't think this is a duplicate. Though issue http://drupal.org/node/371187 does request a similar feature but only for nodes and not for comments and other submitted forms.

dries commentedI agree that would be ideal, but it is non-trivial to implement because Mollom can protect many forms (and will protect many more going forward), and not all of them have a notion of a moderation queue. Comments can be moderated, but user registrations less so. Solving this generically could be really hard.
