I love the module idea, and we have someone who's in store for some misery -- but it appears that *I* am the only one who is in misery until I can figure out how to use this module.
Your README says:
CONFIGURATION
-------------
1. Enable permissions at 'admin/user/permissions'.
2. Configure Misery at 'admin/user/misery'.
3. Enjoy.
It would be nice to know what "endure misery" did. If I take it at face value, then it says that an entire role is going to be subject to misery?
Is there a step 2.5 that I am missing? I would think that I would be able to edit a user and see a form element that would allow me to inflict misery? Or maybe on the configuration page (step #2), I would be able to enter an IP address?
In fact, what we really need is to be able to inflict misery based on IP, because we like to keep our blog comments open, but we have a troll ruining it for everybody.
Thanks! This will be very handy, soon!

danielb commentedIt only goes on the permissions at the moment mate. To cop the problems you need:
1) Permission for 'endure misery'
2) NO permission for 'administer misery' (this prevents admins being affected).
So the only practical way to use the module at the moment is to create a miserable user role. Indeed IP address and per-user controls are what we would prefer, but this is a brand new module at the moment.

capellicI can see how this is adequate for registered users, but in order to be useful for anonymous users, it will need IP address capabilities.
I've changed this over to a feature request. In the meantime, you might consider updating the description on the project page to say that you can only inflict misery at the role level.
Thanks!

capellicAwesome! Thanks!!!
This module reminds me of a saying my grandmother had, "I don't get ulcers, I give them."
